Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position acts as a subject matter expert for Trailer Technicians. The Senior is responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis, and other equipment. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units meet J.B. Hunt specifications at all times. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age with 3 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent

• AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences

• Must be DOT certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes

• Able to supply your own basic tools, or purchase through our toolbox purchase program

• Willingness to work outdoors in the elements

• Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends if needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 or more years of experience in semi-trailer maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent

• EPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration License

• Advanced welding skills (MIG and stick)

• Knowledge of ABS systems

• Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums

• Ability to manage multiple priorities

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 

• Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively

• Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)

• Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
