As the Partner – Risk and Compliance, you will play a crucial role in helping RAC Insurance maintain a mature risk culture. You will oversee risk and compliance practices, provide strategic advice, and work closely with business stakeholders to ensure that the organisation adheres to its risk management framework while minimizing compliance risks. Your leadership will contribute to the development and execution of risk and compliance strategies across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continually review and improve RAC Insurance's Risk and Compliance Management Frameworks, developing new policies and procedures to enhance risk culture.
- Deliver an annual risk and compliance plan, ensuring assurance to Management and the Board on the state of compliance and risk practices.
- Provide strategic oversight of RAC Insurance's risk profile and performance through regular reviews.
- Lead and develop a team of Senior Risk and Compliance Advisors, providing coaching and feedback to support individual growth.
- Oversee business continuity practices, ensuring alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.
- Provide timely and concise reports on Risk and Compliance performance to Senior Management and the Board.
- Build strong professional relationships with stakeholders across RAC Insurance, providing valuable regulatory advice and guidance.
- Manage vendor contracts related to Risk and Compliance systems and ensure these systems meet the organization's needs.
- Stay informed of changes in the compliance environment, applying insights to ensure ongoing regulatory adherence.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Significant experience leading risk and/or compliance teams in financial services, ideally within the insurance sector.
- Excellent strategic thinking, judgment, and critical decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex compliance requirements into practical solutions.
- Proven ability to influence and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong organisational and planning capability to manage diverse workloads and meet deadlines.
- Ability to lead by example and operate effectively in a values-driven organisation.
- Strong knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards, the Insurance Contracts Act, Corporations Act, and ASIC Regulatory Guidelines
- Tertiary qualifications in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field (desirable).
- Membership in relevant industry professional bodies (desirable).
