Do work that matters:
The Chief Operations Office (COO) keeps the Bank running and powers our customer obsession. We are the process engine room supporting the fulfilment of a wide range of products for CBA’s Retail, Commercial and Institutional customers, along with running regulatory operations and Group regulatory projects.
The Chief Controls Office (CCO) is a first line of defence function that provides comprehensive and integrated risk services in support of the Chief Operating Office (COO). The value proposition of the CCO is to provide skilled, practical and efficient risk management to support the COO in the delivery of excellent business and customer outcomes.
Business, Institutional and Market Operations (BIMO) provides operational support for Business Banking and IB&M. BIMO teams include Global Market Operations (GMO), which focuses on pre-trade, trade confirmations, collateral management, settlement and reconciliations across Global Markets, Commodities, Trade, Carbon and Group Treasury.
See yourself in our team:
As Manager, Risk and Control Enablement, your role will be twofold:
You'll manage risk capabilities and outcomes within GMO, including providing advice, responding to incidents, and performing thematic reviews in accordance with Group Frameworks
You'll manage risk governance within the BIMO operational control environment, including developing and implementing guidance targeting consistency and simplification of processes and controls
In any given week you will:
Facilitate decisions relating to the management, maintenance and consistency of GMO risk matters, including controls, audits and projects
Develop an understanding of the businesses we support and how controls and regulations may apply
Build a trusted risk relationship with the GMO business team and understand their challenges
Prepare assessments and opinions relating to potential breaches of regulations, industry standards or codes of practice
Coach and support team members and peers, enabling them to develop control and compliance capabilities
We're interested in hearing from people who have:
Capability in optimal control placement, control management, control testing and maturity uplift, ideally with strong interest in the end to end leadership of risk and controls management in complex environments
Compliance management capability, ideally with experience in the Institutional Banking, Business Banking or the related Operations domains
Experience driving change across large scale and complex business environments in relation to regulatory and/or internal policy changes, including consulting with and influencing senior leaders across the end to end value chain and through the three lines of accountability
A pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset, with a proactive, can-do approach, open to new ideas and experiences and adaptable to change
Strong written communication skills, including interest in preparing Executive level papers.
We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half their time each month connecting in office. We also have many other flexible working options available including changing start and finish times, part-time arrangements and job share to name a few. Talk to us about how these arrangements might work in the role you’re interested in.
