Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Procurement, Complex Sourcing to join our team and lead high-impact sourcing initiatives across a variety of indirect spend categories. Reporting directly to the VP, Strategic Sourcing, this role is focused on delivering measurable value by managing complex sourcing projects, driving cost savings, and optimizing supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will possess deep functional expertise in strategic sourcing methodologies, strategies, and tactics, and a broad range of category experience, enabling deployment to any high-priority opportunity across MVW’s spend.
Expected Contributions
Strategic Sourcing Leadership
Develop and execute end-to-end sourcing strategies for complex projects across indirect categories (e.g., IT, marketing, facilities, HR, professional services, etc.).
Analyze spend data and identify opportunities to drive cost reduction, value creation, and process efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align sourcing initiatives with business objectives.
Supplier Relationship Management
Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract development processes.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Mitigate risks by ensuring compliance with contractual terms and monitoring supplier performance metrics.
Category Expertise and Market Insights
Provide expertise across a wide range of indirect categories, ensuring deep knowledge of market trends, pricing structures, and supplier capabilities.
Stay informed of market dynamics and identify innovative solutions to improve business outcomes.
Project Management
Manage multiple, high-complexity sourcing initiatives simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Drive alignment among diverse teams and provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and results.
Data-Driven Decision-Making
Conduct detailed spend analysis, total cost of ownership modeling, and scenario planning.
Leverage advanced analytical tools and methodologies to support decision-making and quantify the impact of sourcing initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, finance, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with demonstrated success in managing complex, high-value sourcing initiatives.
Broad experience across multiple indirect spend categories, with a track record of delivering measurable value in highly complex sourcing initiatives.
Deep expertise in sourcing methodologies, negotiation strategies, and supplier relationship management.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
Preferred Skills:
Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, or PMP).
Experience with procurement technologies such as SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar tools.
Familiarity with supplier diversity, sustainability, and ESG initiatives in sourcing strategies
