About Watershed

Watershed is a software platform for running a world-class climate program. We measure our success in the carbon reduction achievements of our customers. We are looking for team members who love product-building, want to work hard at a mission-oriented startup, and will collaborate with us in shaping the culture of a growing team.

We have offices in San Francisco, New York and London and remote team members across the US and Europe. We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!

The role

We’re looking for a highly creative, organized, and driven designer to elevate the Watershed brand and bring it to life across all of our marketing channels. By delivering a wide range of compelling brand assets and upleveling our visual identity, you’ll help bring bar-raising work into the world as we further our mission to accelerate the climate economy. This is a unique opportunity to directly shape one of the fastest-growing brands in sustainability.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who lives and breathes brand design, loves to consistently raise the brand bar, and brings exceptional craft and taste to their projects. You’ll have a strong working understanding of brand design principles, know how to visually cut through the noise of a crowded market, and be able to deftly alternate between big-picture thinking and nailing the pixel-perfect details.

You will:

  • Evolve, uplevel, and scale Watershed’s brand identity and guidelines
  • Create and implement design systems and templates to help the brand scale with consistency and quality
  • Produce and deliver a wide range of creative and compelling brand assets to support the marketing team’s projects, including campaigns, launches, ads, events, content, video, and more
  • Conceptualize and craft industry-leading brand campaigns to grow awareness of and affinity for Watershed
  • Work cross-functionally to enable the Watershed team to meet, uphold, and advocate for brand standards

You have

  • Design experience on an in-house brand creative team (preferably at a software startup)
  • A portfolio showing a wide range of brand assets and templates you’ve designed for multiple marketing channels
  • A high degree of proficiency with both design and collaborative tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Asana, and Slack
  • Strong opinions about what separates good from great brand creative work
  • A strong track record of soliciting and actioning feedback, working with a range of cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering projects on-time at a high bar
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a pixel-perfect approach to design
  • Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, effectively manage your time, and clearly communicate progress
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

At Watershed, we strive to design consistent, fair, and competitive compensation programs. The total cash compensation range may be inclusive of several levels at Watershed and final offer will be determined by a number of factors, including the candidate’s skills, capabilities, and location, as well as scope of the role.

The anticipated cash compensation range is in addition to a total rewards benefit package including equity, health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), unlimited paid time off, paid parental leave, fertility, and mental health programs etc.

Salary Range
$154,000$180,000 USD

FAQ

Where does Watershed work?

We have hub offices in San Francisco, New York and London, and some remote team members in the US and EU. Most of our jobs need to be in San Francisco / New York / London, but certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description.

What’s the interview process like?

It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience screen (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel after that if the screens go well. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.
