The Paralegal II will support the Travel + Leisure Co. Acquisition & Development, Strategic Development, Corporate Facilities and Risk Management teams.  This position will work with multiple internal and external business units and partners. This position will provide prompt and professional customer service to foster a positive and collaborative professional working relationship with our clients.  The ability to work under multiple shifting deadlines for multiple stakeholders is required.

This position will assist attorneys/directors with all aspects of real estate and financing transactions from project inception to completion. This position will also prepare initial drafts and/or revisions of agreements relating to resort renovation and design, new resort construction, remediation and mitigation for property insurance claims, and corporate facilities.  In addition, this position will provide ancillary legal support to the T+L Corporate Sourcing and Leasing teams.

How You'll Shine:

Real Estate Transactions:

  • Prepare and manage closing checklists, and perform due diligence review including title and survey, and land use and zoning matters.
  • Coordinate document execution, prepare wire requests and business communications, and participate in client calls and real estate closings.
  • Manage closing and post-closing documentation, and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Draft, review, and revise various commercial real estate documents related to acquisitions, dispositions, financing activities, and other business initiatives.

Contracts:

  • Prepare, review and/or revise various legal agreements including but not limited to confidentiality agreements, master services agreements, vendor contracts, sourcing contracts, construction and consultant contracts relating to resort renovations, new resort construction, resort property remediation/mitigation/restoration and corporate facilities.
  • Maintain correspondence and document files.

Other:

  • Perform legal research, including review of governing documents, case law and federal, state, and local statutes.
  • Prepare and/or review/revise estoppels, leases and amendments pertaining to Travel + Leisure’s corporate real estate, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the team on assigned projects, and coordinate with other team members working on related documents or projects.
  • Organize, lead and participate in calls with the team or business clients as needed.
  • Support special projects and initiatives, and/or perform other duties as needed.

What You'll Bring:

  • Two-year college degree or equivalent qualifying work experience with an excellent work performance record, four-year degree preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program or qualifying legal experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with a team, monitor and meet shifting priorities and deadlines, and handle multiple projects and diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and confidently interact with all levels of business personnel.
  • Maintain a proactive, positive approach to all situations, with the ability to anticipate and identify potential challenges and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Friendly demeanor, positive, professional, can-do attitude, and active listening skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Adobe, and willing to learn additional specialized software programs.
  • Extensive drafting, editing, formatting, red-lining and proofreading commercial contracts and real estate documents, and other complex legal documents.
  • 2+ years paralegal experience required
  • 3+ years commercial real estate experience preferred
  • 2+ years in drafting, analyzing, and reviewing detailed contracts preferred
  • Hospitality/timeshare experience preferred
