Title IX Coordinator

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking a Title IX Coordinator with strong strategic planning skills to lead UMGC’s efforts to ensure compliance with federal Title IX policies and federal and state statutory and regulatory regarding sexual misconduct.
Primary Duties
- Develops, implements, and evaluates policies, procedures, and standards for the effective administration of a comprehensive Title IX program, and coordinates, and monitors compliance activities and trainings.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for UMGC’s adherence to Title IX-related policies and procedures.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies, related programs, services, and education /or outreach for students, staff, and faculty.
- Manage UMGC’s response to all Title IX Complaints and ensure timely and thorough completion of all Title IX investigations.
- Provide ongoing consultation regarding Title IX requirements, grievance issues, and compliance programs to Senior Leadership and other UMGC stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of current state and federal laws, regulations, and trends related to Title IX.
Required Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a related field and able to work from a deep knowledge of theory and practice of equity and inclusion as they apply within higher education.
- Experience with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines related to Title IX.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret federal and state equal opportunity laws and nondiscrimination laws and regulations and their impact on institutions of higher education.
- Experience managing Title IX complaint resolution, investigations, and grievances.
- Experience in communicating effectively, verbally and written, with the ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations diplomatically.
- Demonstrated ability and experience working in an environment of strict confidentiality with sensitive information, materials, and/or client interactions.
- Demonstrated skill in exercising professional judgment, tact, and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters, and/or people in distress.
- Demonstrated experience working successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
- Ability to multitask and adjust to professionally changing priorities, strong collaboration skills, exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
- Ability to be proactive, resourceful, responsive, and efficient.
Required Education
- 4-year college degree in Law, Human Resources, Public Administration, or Educational Administration.

Hiring Range:
$82,000.00 - $92,000.00
