What you will do:

Under minimal supervision prepare construction submittal drawings required for system installation to support building systems operation in the District Offices.

How you will do it:

  • Prepare highly complex electrical systems drawings such as conceptual presentation drawings, floor plan layouts, riser drawings, electrical interconnection drawings, installation termination drawings, device circuit wiring, control cabinet layouts, dimensional equipment mounting instructions, operations, matrixes and technical charts, record drawings.
  • Receive project assignments from Designer.
  • Prepare advanced system wiring configurations, and project submittal drawings.
  • Maintain project drawing files, and associated records and documentation in an orderly condition.
  • Operate and maintain CAD equipment, plotter, printers.
  • Perform other system configurations/calculations in accordance with project specifications and other project documentation as directed by project engineering.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Scope:

Works directly with the Design Manager, Designers, Drafters, Installation Representatives, contractors and customers.

Impact:

Direct impact on meeting project specifications, project schedule and customer satisfaction through value engineering, project quoting and order processing.

Education, Experience and Certifications/Licenses:

High School/Trade School graduate or Associates Degree in electronics or equivalent experience. Four to Six years CAD drafting with the latest AutoCAD version.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledgeable with AutoCAD, MS office products, Simplex building systems products or other related industries products, construction submittal drawings. Proficient in reading and understanding Architectural, Electrical layouts and diagrams. Excellent written and oral communication skills needed.

Working Conditions/Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time in office and meeting settings.
  • Use of computer keyboard and attention to PC monitor often for prolonged periods.
