Summary:
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows-based servers. This role encompasses back-end IT support for business-critical and development-related departments and personnel, also configure user access and maintain system stability and data security through deployment and migration. Windows administrators leverage their expertise with the Windows operating system and server administration to develop and deploy servers, support day-to-day system performance, and prevent data loss and unauthorized access.
VMware administrators create, deploy, and maintain network and server infrastructure that relies on VMware products such as vSphere. Despite computing resource-heavy tasks, VMware administrators spend much of their time on maintenance and troubleshooting to guarantee maximum performance. While they mostly work in front of a computer with occasional travel to client locations, they may remain on call during evenings or weekends to supply ongoing system support.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• In depth knowledge on all Windows services and Administration experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills on vSphere.
• Experience of managing multiple versions of Windows Servers on large systems.
• Experience Practical experience in monitoring.
• Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
• Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Technical documentation skills.
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Prepare the RCA and Check the SLA as per project requirements.
Professional & Technical Skills:
• Must have skills: Windows and VMware Admin/Support (AD, Windows patching, File/Print
servers, VMware vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, DRS, HA, FT, update manager, Snapshot, Clone and
Template)
• Good To have Skills: Azure (Resource Groups, vNet, Subnet, Security Groups, VM creation,
Storage accounts, Backups and Availability groups etc.,)
• Installing, Configuring and Updating of Active Directory Domain services in W28/R2 &
W2012/R2.
• Creating and execution of script languages/tools like LDIFDE, CSVDE, DSADD, Powershell and
VBScript.
• Disk management, Administering accounts and resources.
• Manage user and computer accounts using ADSIEdit and NTDSUtil.
• Manage access to resources, design GROUP SCOPE and OU.
• Implementing and managing user and computer environment using GROUP POLICY.
• Managing Active directory forest and domain structure,
• Operation masters’ active directory replication and FSMO.
• Resolving hostnames by using DNS.
• Manage & monitor DHCP, Allocate IP address by using DHCP, Design DHCP Scope.
• Understanding the File servers, print servers and DFS.
• Knowledge on Microsoft visualization technologies like Hyper- V and SCVMM.
• Know technical information on other Microsoft components like SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM, SCDPM
and SCOC.
• Installation of RODC using Server core in branch offices.
• Maintaining and calculate of Infrastructure.
• Installation of Additional Domain Controller and Replication.
• Configuring Routing and Remote access services.
• Secure network traffic by using IPSec and Certificates.
• Configure Wireless, Firewall, Print Services, File Services.
• Installation of WSUS, viewing updates, approving updates, WSUS group policies and
Troubleshooting WSUS.
• Configure Backup, Recovery and Active Directory maintenance.
• Understanding the problem and analyses then troubleshoot level of information skills.
• Monitoring Performance, Event logs and Security log files.
• Experience in MS-Cluster.
• Prepare the RCA for the problem tickets.
• Installing and configuration of Esxi 5.X and 6.X
• Configure DNS and routing information for an ESXI host.
• Install a Guest Operating System in a virtual machine.
• Creating a vCenterserver inventory Data Store objects.
• Creating a Standard and Distributed switch with a virtual machine port group.
• Add a VM Kernel port group to Standard switch.
• Deploy a virtual machine from a Template.
• Cloning a Virtual Machine that is Power on.
• Modifying a Virtual Machine like increase the size of VMDK file, adjust memory allocation of VM,
expand a Thin-provision a virtual disk etc.,
• VM migration by using vMotion, DRS, HA and FT.
• Setting up and troubleshooting features like HA/FT/DRS with EVC for the Virtual Machines for
business continuity.
• Creating Snapshots on VMware
• Changing the configuration of VMware on need basis.
• Converting Physical machines to Virtual Machines using VMware Converter (P2V)
• Converting Virtual Machines running on Workstation to VMs on ESX Server (V2V)
• VM vcenter update manager by using vCenter Server.
• vCenter Server level permissions and Troubleshooting issues relating to vmotion such as
compatibility issues.
• Migration of Standard switch to DV Switch.
• Troubleshooting ESXi and VM performance based on Cpu, Ram, Network, Storage using VMA.
• Resource pools
• Shares and limits
• PowerShell scripts.
• Hand on Experience on Hyper-V
Additional Information:
• Take part in 24x7 Shift Rotations including Morning, Evening and Night Shifts.
• Work out of hours evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays at reasonable request to perform
production changes.
• Travel to other locations when required.
• Able to work from home occasionally.
• Be flexible to work with other platforms.
• Improve the Knowledge in different and latest technologies.
