What part will you play?
GAF Energy is seeking a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager to manage Solar Cell strategic sourcing.
This position will formulate the sourcing strategies for solar cells, develop the supplier bases, define and implement the cost reduction & risk mitigation programs to meet our annual sourcing key performance metrics.
Lead the cross-functional team including R&D, NPI, Quality, and Procurement Operations to develop global solar cell supplier bases. In addition, qualify the suppliers according to GAF Energy quality standards, onboard the supplier and maintain the supply continuity for GAF energy solar cell requirements.
Manage the strategic relationship with the suppliers C-level leadership and conduct contract negotiations of varying complexity.
Create and implement a strategic roadmap for solar cell supply to support GAF Energy’s Timberline solar shingle product development roadmap.
Serve as GAF Energy in-house expert regarding knowledge of solar cell technology trends including development with key global companies. In addition to understanding the capacity and new product development, this role is expected to advise and support internal stakeholder’s inquiries related to solar cells.
This position will interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, and services.
You will report to the Senior Director of Supply Chain, and work cross-functionally to take complete ownership of assigned suppliers & drive suppliers in achieving quality, cost, delivery or lead-time targets, which may include engagement with sub-tiers in the supply chain. You will join an experienced and dedicated team that possesses strong quantitative and analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
What will you do?
Develop, drive, and implement solar cell sourcing strategies.
Manage vendor qualification and on-boarding, vendor selection, contract negotiations, and internal approvals.
Maintain vendor relationships, communicate business needs and manage vendor business reviews.
Provide feedback on the effectiveness of established methodologies and continue to drive improvements.
Resolve missing information, inconsistencies and validate information in Vendor Profiles through data analysis and problem solving.
Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers in an effort to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
What do we require from you?
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electronics Engineering, or similar field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management or procurement/supply chain.
Experience with sourcing solar cells and/or PV modules components.
Experience in the solar industries.
Strategic thinker with high analytical skills yet a pragmatic problem solver.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external functional teams verbally, in writing, and via presentations.
Impeccable attention to detail, a process-oriented mindset, and excellent time management skills.
Self-motivated, proactive, and efficient.
