Introduction:

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic learning and skills professional for the Talent Management & Development function at GlobalFoundries. The Principal Specialist, Learning & Development will play a key role in building the skills framework and capability needed to design and deliver practical and effective learning and career solutions for all levels of employees at the site, region and global levels.

Your Job:

  • Conduct and evaluate organizational capability analysis and training needs assessments to build and manage the appropriate skills and learning framework, system, and solution tailored to the business need.

  • Design and deliver curriculum, programs, or learning solutions using a variety of techniques that enhance transfer of knowledge to everyday work.

  • Assess whether the learning design solution and system produces positive results, such as a change in learner skill, knowledge, and/or behavior and propose improvement plans.

  • Develop course materials and other documents such as performance support tools, handouts, manuals, playbooks and exercises, to support the transfer of knowledge and sustain behavior change.

  • Craft, create and deliver the communication and change management plans, messages and content needed to support the skills and learning initiatives.

  • Work effectively with staff, business operations and SMEs, project managers, other trainers, executives, and vendors to create fun, interesting, and sound instructional solutions.

  • Partner with global counterparts to benchmark, align and execute the projects and programs.

  • Follow-up with employees through surveys, interviews, or evaluations to identify gaps and any future training needs.

  • Develop end-to-end integrated learning and development solutions including identifying core issues, forming hypotheses, launching new programs and employing rigorous feedback loops.

  • Coach managers and high potential employees to improve their performance and deliver increasingly powerful results.

  • Manage training programs in accordance with grant methodology in partnership with institutes of higher learning and government bodies.

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

  • Works and collaborates on other projects and/or assignments as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, Industrial/Organization Psychology, Business, Engineering or related field

  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance 2.0 (ACLP 2.0) – strongly preferred

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in training and skills development programs/projects/framework, including experience leading cross-functional projects and managing business-wide programs.

  • Relevant hands-on experience in a semiconductor/manufacturing/engineering environment preferred

  • Experience as an instructor/facilitator

  • Travel – up to 5% required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with learning and development in a fast paced, global environment.

  • Experience in Learning Management Systems and Skills or Competencies Frameworks.

  • Experience in supporting or managing grant programs with institute of higher learning and government bodies.

  • Experience in driving cutting-edge learning and skills development projects and new initiatives inside global organizations.

  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amount of data and communicating data findings, including experience establishing and tracking program metrics.

  • Strong bias for action with experience in identifying and resolving issues independently, takes initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances.

  • Ability to convey ideas and recommendations in a clear, compelling and succinct way in written and verbal communications. Presentation caliber verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional team environment on multiple projects with changing priorities.

  • Strong team player who can work independently and is a self-starter.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • Experience with SumTotal, Skillsoft, Workday, & PowerBI

  • Experience with Articulate and other media software to develop engaging media content.
