This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

The senior business analyst will support our firm's enterprise-wise reporting functions as a major contributor to the design and implementation of data pipelines and platforms within our current and next-generation data ecosystem.

Hired staff will design and test sophisticated data ingest processes, transformations, normalizations, reports and extracts, and integration processes that strengthen internal business analytics as well as external client reporting functions. The staff will partner with business users, data engineers and architects, and product owner, to form complete end-to end-solutions. These responsibilities offer an evolving fast-paced environment, and call for a work style marked by high energy, flexibility, quick learning, and collaboration.

The ideal candidate is someone who has:

• Demonstrated understanding of complex financial data, ideally in an investment management setting (including concepts of cash flows, income and expenses, leverage, and investment and fund performance).
• High energy and team-oriented style; flexibility and motivation to take on a broad range of analytical and software-testing assignments
• Track record and skills shown on high-intensity, high-complexity projects
• Confidence and credibility interacting with business users at all levels
• Expertise in translating business requirements into actionable technology solutions
• SQL and data analysis skills, to support design and testing
• Experience creating and reviewing epics, user stories, features, etc. in an Agile development environment
• Proficiency with identifying data patterns and proposing proactive solutions to address data quality issues.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis, understanding data architecture intricacies.

What you will do:

• Analysis of business and technology needs, with responsibility to form actionable development and testing plans. Heavy focus on sources and uses of accounting and performance data.
• Eliciting and documenting requirements, specifications, test plans, test results, and issues into appropriate context. Frequent and in-depth end-user interactions during this process.
• Defining scope of sprints and overall projects
• Tracking and resolving issues, dependencies, and risks
• Oversight of quality assurance functions
• Contribution to logical and physical data models
• Creation and updates to project artifacts and tools such as task boards, problem lists, user stories, and technical documentation
• Helping to prototype solutions
• Attend trainings to sharpen technical and business skills
• Collaborate with the broader team and work effectively with subject matter experts from various domains and actively learn from their expertise.

Education

• Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts or equivalent experience

Experience

• 7+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, business intelligence, data integration, and/or data engineering
