In this role, you will act as the main interface between technology and a specific business/functional area.  Incumbents help define business requirements, build application and process specifications, coordinate with delivery teams, and ensure that work is prioritized by business value and in alignment with the overarching business and technical strategies. You may have dual reporting relationship to technology and to business/functional unit management. Incumbents may be involved in the writing of technical materials/documentation.

Role summary and job responsibilities:

  • Requires specialized knowledge and expertise in their own job discipline and deep experience in integrating related disciplinary knowledge
  • Leads disciplinary or multi-functional program of notable risk; uses sophisticated analytical thought to identify innovative solutions
  • Accountable for work of self and others; sets standards around which others will operate
  • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
  • Acts as advisor to management and key external partners across a set of applications or business domain(s)
  • Leads the definition and assessment of complex or enterprise-wide business needs
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to business partners, internally and externally, to understand their goals and objectives on a regular basis
  • Understands and connects business strategy with technology strategy to recommend optimal solutions in partnership with enterprise architects and engineering managers
  • Ensures a lean-agile mind-set is applied across an entire business domain, portfolio of business function.
  • Designs business workflows across a set of application or business domains
  • Works on initiatives with high complexity and often high volume, such as a large, diverse number of applications or across a business domain
  • Builds a wide, active network that is regularly engaged
  • Other duties as assigned

Business knowledge

  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of products/flows within assigned domains
  • Applies integration of technical expertise and knowledge of domain(s) business strategy to recommend standard methodologies for technical solutions
  • Makes decisions that are in alignment with the domain’s broader business strategy and future priorities

Requirements

  • Typically, 8+ years of relevant experience with 3+ years of demonstrated experience in the asset management/financial services domain.
  • Knows the latest best-of-breed technologies
  • Provides a clear and concise explanation of business strategy, technical concepts, designs or implementation to a non-technical audience across domain(s)
  • Communicates technical vision to all parties involved within an initiative across domain(s)
  • Identifies impact across domain(s) and resolves technical conflicts and contending priorities
  • Recommends business analysis process changes impacting the domain(s)

FINRA Requirements

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.

Work Flexibility

This role is eligible for remote work up to three days a week.
