Job Summary

Responsible for the overall management of the patient encounter to ensure effective customer service, compliant billing and collections, correspondence management, claim follow-up, accurate payment and adjustment reconciliation, correspondence review within departmental standards. Pull Productivity reporting for all Patient Account Representatives and enter on master spreadsheet. Assist with monthly audits for Patient Account Representative II, address and resolve account escalations, provide training support to new employees, assist with process creation and implementation, Work closely with Management and team to take appropriate steps to resolve an account. Assist manager as needed with any other tasks not listed above.

Job Requirements:

a.Minimum Education Requirement :

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

b.Minimum Experience Requirement:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in diverse experience in a healthcare setting, with comprehension of medical billing and collection, with a financial background in account receivable. Minimum typing requirement of 45 wpm. Basic knowledge of Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare and Medicaid insurance is preferable.

Ability to communicate effectively with others, strong analytical skills. Knowledge of regulatory billing and HIPAA guidelines. Thorough understanding of the revenue cycle process, from patient access (authorization, admissions) through Patient Financial Services (billing, insurance appeals, collections) procedure and policies. Ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner, and must have good oral and written skills. Must have high time management and organizational skills, problem solving skills.
