This position is for an IT Manager within the ICS IT Division of Caterpillar IT.  In this position, you will coach, guide and facilitate a team responsible for of the Enterprise Factory Data Lake, Engineering Data Lake & strategic roadmap responsibilities with digital threat projects supporting the Product Data Operational Excellence (PDOE) program.  You will also provide business partner engagement with key business leaders to ensure digital threads are driving enterprise benefits, while driving quality data to the data lake and following the data governance strategies. 

Job Summary:

In this role you will be on the ground floor of driving digital strategies which enable yearly business benefits in excess of $14m with an annual development budget of +$6m and a support budget of +$2m with 8 Cat staff and approximately 25 agency resources.   You will also be responsible for integrating  state of the art technologies such as AI, video streaming, big data, cloud computing, etc into the solution offerings.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee multiple application programming and analysis projects which include development, installation and maintenance of digital projects and analytical reports

  • Lead work group to complete objectives to deliver OPACC value to the business

  • Maximize staff contribution through professional growth and development, to increase teamwork and more effectively meet business needs.

  • Ensure that all digital projects & analytic requests that are developed, meet business needs and specifications.

  • Monitor and maintain adherence and compliance to quality standards on an ongoing basis

  • Drive Strategic IT roadmap development based on business objectives and lead governance processes to ensure all projects aligned to Engineering & ICS OPACC agenda

  • Develop and maintain departmental expenses of $5m and yearly BU Pull aligned to business affordability & OPACC targets.

  • Foster an environment of engagement, encourage innovation and develop succession, career development and training plans for all employees

Machine Learning: Knowledge of principles, technologies and algorithms of machine learning; ability to develop, implement and deliver related systems, products and services.
 

Considerations For Top Candidates:

  • Bachelor's degree or 7-10 years of IT experience

  • Demonstrated prior supervisory experience of two years or more

  • Previous Engineering & Digital technology experience

  • Self-starter with strong strategic development roadmap creation, technical leadership skills and business acumen

  • Understanding of agile development through dev ops

  • High Level of customer focus with professional communication skills

  • Demonstrated quick and clear decision-making skills, strong people management, and a focus on developing others

  • Able to communicate technical information effectively with management, work groups and others within the business and supply base

  • Able to build strong relationships within all levels of the organization
