The Opportunity 

Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) is currently recruiting for a Market Access Manager to cover the area of Czech Republic and Slovakia. The position will be reporting directly to Country Manager Czechia and Slovakia, Diabetes Care.
 

As a Market Access Manager, you will support the development and implementation of market access and reimbursement strategies for existing products through the lens of health economics and budget impact.  

The role will be engaged in creation of initiatives regarding enlargement of reimbursement including advocacy efforts with associations, local government bodies, scientific dialogue with clinical experts, hospitals, health economic opinion leaders, patient´s associations.

What You'll do:

  • Understand, describe and prioritize most relevant (influential, accessible) market access stakeholders (payers, governmental bodies, industry associations, professional associations and other stakeholders) for local ADC organization/business.
  • Build trusted and strategic relationships with payers, influencing stakeholders and KOL’s to anticipate payers´ agendas, plans and objectives.
  • Understand the specific needs of payers and reimbursement-related stakeholders and identify mutually beneficial partnering opportunities.
  • Analyze market access trends / health policy changes and continuously map reimbursement requirements by payer type for on market products. Anticipate access barriers and cost containment risks. Negotiate funding and price (if applicable) and support our products in reimbursement negotiations and health technology assessments.
  • Differentiate our products adapting and a global value story to local healthcare context in order to avoid price erosion and get preference. Develop appropriate communication platforms to reinforce the value messages for our products (e.g. workshops, payer info material).
  • Partner local sales and marketing organization to ensure effective collaboration and execution of emerging business opportunities.
  • Partner with global market access to inform product development & pricing based on MA customer needs. Develop launch plans for new products mapping out local coding, coverage and payment requirements.
  • Consolidate planning and actions in local market access strategy & implementation plan taking into account short term and mid-term business goals.
  • Be a subject matter expert in HTA (health technology assessment) and EBM (evidence-based medicine) recommendations on BGM and CGM.
  • Contribute actively to ADC’s global market access network by providing relevant local country input and sharing best practices.
  • Support educational projects promoting the image of Abbott Company as a partner of healthcare system in Poland through educational activities.
  • Built and desired corporate image with key stakeholders including KOLs and Health Care decision makers.
  • Engage with diabetes community and policy makers to build awareness of meaning of proper monitoring in patients diabetes care.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing, Medical and Sales Teams to create stable position of ADC in region.
  • Notification of Health authorities about new product entering, Rx dossier completion and submission, evaluation of MED DEV legislation changes on ADC business.

Required qualifications and background:

  • University degree in health sciences or other relevant.
  • Minimum over 5 years’ experience in the area of HTA or Reimbursement or Pharma or Medical Devices or Clinical Affairs in commercial or public industry.
  • Driving license category B.
  • Advanced knowledge of evidence-based medicine, new technology, National Healthcare System and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep knowledge of the environment, legislation, policy and decision-making process in the healthcare system.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Excellent communication/organizational/ planning skills.
  • Availability to travel at least 80% of the time.
