Position Responsibilities

  • Meet the responsibilities of Supervising.
  • Principal responsibility for scoping, managing and communicating about global accounting projects and participating in all phases of the visioning, planning, development and integration lifecycles.
  • Negotiate with business stakeholders and other members of the Accounting organization to identify appropriate solutions for business problems.
  • Develop a strong grasp of Prologis’ business fundamentals and use that to frame project alignment with Prologis business goals. Develop friendly, helpful, effective relationships with the global Accounting team, including executives, managers, stakeholders and project team members. 
  • Provide clear and relevant communication to project stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Articulate technical issues to business stakeholders in an understandable and relevant way.
  • Assist in the research and documentation of accounting issues.
  • Ensure certain accounting processes and controls are documented, updated and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (USGAAP & IFRS).
  • Make suggested improvements to existing processes and assist with implementation.
  • Maintain and improve documentation of existing accounting policies to be compliant with Prologis requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors.
  • Develop and retain staff.
  • Interact with senior management and management of other areas/functions of the company.
  • Assist in special projects as necessary.
  • Assist with the quarterly and annual disclosure filings.
  • Manage the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements footnotes, and other disclosures (such as operating metrics) that are filled with the CNBV rules.
  • Document business transactions.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5-7 years of experience in public accounting (large public accounting firm a plus), with significant exposure to SEC reporting, or similar experience within a large corporate enterprise (real estate and international experience a plus), demonstrating capability managing and implementing projects / processes in a complex organization.
  • Strong belief in the importance, and practice of core project management discipline balanced with the personal skills and experience to work with other team members toward effective execution and delivery quality.
  • Ability to flex between the strategic and tactical aspects of project leadership while never losing sight of the bigger picture. 
  • Able to see over the project landscape and ask the right questions to identify potential risks and issues. 
  • Be willing to assist in any way to ensure the success of the initiative and the project team throughout the entire project process; project discovery through adoption.
  • Proven leadership which includes a consultative, facilitative and advisory approach.
  • A strong sense of personal investment and ownership in assigned projects, and a strong sense of personal pride in managed results.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with business stakeholders, business customers, executives and Accounting colleagues.
  • Strong interest and capability to build and maintain a strong grasp of Prologis’ business, business model, business drivers, and business vocabulary.
  • Strong ability to translate ideas and needs into tangible actions with measurable results.
  • Compelling, effective presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Able to create and maintain project plans using Microsoft Project, SharePoint and other tools.
  • Strong knowledge in Real Estate, Accounting, Finance and Operations.
  • Experience in Global Operations is highly desirable but not required.
  • Highly detail oriented with a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Strong work ethics with demonstrated ability to research and solve complex issues in a collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to show strong initiative while working independently and as part of a team.
  • Intermediate skills in the functions of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point mainly).
  • Fluent English and Spanish.
  • Extensive working knowledge of IFRS and BMV regulations.
  • CPC license is highly desirable but not required (CPA equivalent).
