Role Definition

To ensure the continuous operation of either  Export, Billing & Documentation or Indirect Taxation for Caterpillar Acuña (Equipos de Acuña S.A de C.V).

This position represents a key role in handling either Export, Billing & Documentation or Indirect Taxation (VAT & Customs compliance) functions for Caterpillar (Caterpillar Acuña).

What You Will Do

The role will be exposed to a wide variety of business processes and functions.  There is an expectation to achieve a medium to high level of complex and/or technical analysis for legal and business reporting purposes, and complete various outputs accurately prior to submission to the relevant government bodies.  The function will work on challenging, medium to high-risk issues and make business decisions and recommendations as appropriate.

The position is responsible for supporting and lead the Export, Billing & Documentation in ensuring correct process, control, and compliance risk is managed within the departments.  This includes HM Revenue & Customs, SOX, VAT & Customs compliance, Cat Treasury and other audit functions.  There is a further requirement to regularly liaise with the before mentioned groups in addition to customers, forwarding agents, and shipping lines amongst others.

Export - MFG: Knowledge of issues, procedures, tools and practices of exporting; ability to export goods to and from international locations.

  • Applies export and customs regulations for a specific region or country.
  • Assists in the export process; ensures compliance with U.S. regulations for a specific country.
  • Uses locally relevant tariff schedules.
  • Completes all required export documentation for repetitive transactions.

Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

What is Required:

  • Complete university degree in International Business or Commerce or related field.
  • Experience in Export Processes.
  • Knowledge in inventory control.
  • English intermediate.
  • Leadership Experience
