NORTH AMERICA SPORTS MARKETING  

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

An expert in relationship management who is passionate about the sport and leads with collaboration. As part of our North America Basketball Sports Marketing Leadership Team, A Senior Principal of Basketball Sports Marketing will manage a signature athlete relationship(s) and partner in creating and driving the overall strategic vision for the athlete partnership. In this role you will manage key strategic relationship, drive a service strategy, lead athlete leverage with brand experience, and partner with a cross functional team of experts.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

  • Manage a key signature basketball athlete relationship. 
  • Build and drive a world class service strategy
  • You’ll work closely with cross-functional brand and business partners at the Global and Geo level to ensure that Nike maximizes our signature athlete partnership.
  • Communicate Athlete plans to SM leadership and the Executive Leadership Team
  • Leverage relationships to identify non-traditional connection points for our athlete partner.
  • Ensure our basketball athletes are aligned against Nike’s Purpose Offense, specifically around sustainability, community, diversity and equality.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You will report to the Head of NA Basketball and work closely with the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Sports Marketing team along with the Athlete specific cross- functional org. Additionally, you will work with the M/W Global and Geo Basketball leadership teams to ensure Sports Marketing efforts are in service of brand and business objectives.


WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Marketing or related field, or combination of relevant education, experience and training.
  • Minimum of 10 years directly relevant experience; experience should include comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert
  • Travel – 30-40%
  • Key industry relationship
  • Expert knowledge of the basketball ecosystem
