Job Summary:

Product Validation, a global and progressive organization operating under Technology & Innovation group within Milacron, is currently seeking strong, results-oriented candidates for the position of Test Analyst. With solid-line reporting to Senior Research & Test Analyst, this role will focus on executing Milacron’s Product validation processes for the needs of Technology upgradation & innovation. More precisely the role is made for performing the tests & analysis activities with the goal of achieving the utmost performance, consistency & reliability in Milacron’s product lines, its sub systems & components used in its product lines.

Essential/Key Functions:

Keeping the performance & reliability of Milacron product, its systems/sub-systems & key components (commonly used here as “objects”) used in them at the core, this candidate will perform following responsibilities…

Collaborate with NPD, Engineering, Control/Electronic & Application group for understanding & defining a clear layout for the validation process to be performed. Perform the laid-out Validation test processes on applicable objects (i.m. Product or its system or its sub system or key component in the product) & correcting the issues or getting them corrected through applicable team members from above said groups in 1. Perform tests on objects using global industry validation standards e.g. Euromap, ISO, EN & inherent validation standards of Milacron. Acquiring all the relevant test data from object using various equipments, instruments, sensors, DAQ systems (e.g. Siemens Simcenter, NI Labview) & maintain them using an appropriate data management practice. Analyze the data using various DAQ software & create High level Data analysis pertaining to performance & reliability for empowering NPD, Control, Engineering & Application groups to understand improvements needed at the applicable design areas in objects. Applying DFMEA methodologies for testing the reliability of required objects. Travelling to customer sites for field validation requirements or for resolving critical issues & suppliers’ sites for pre-validation trials based on needs. Create high level Product performance data analysis from NPD objects & competition products for empowering product management & sales groups to gain the new business. Maintain a detailed Validation log with regular visibility to the product chief engineers & applicable Leaders of the Engineering groups.

Utilizing the laboratories at Milacron for performing various test processes through Life-cycle test, reliability science, DFMEAs etc. Partnering with sourcing team & contributing to development of component from new supplier or new technology from supplier. Maintaining the calibration requirements of instruments used in Product validation. Monitoring the needs of tools required for validation & raising the requests for same. Conducting effective Communications with various groups of Milacron required for fulfilling the needs of this job role, while maintaining the utmost professionalism.    Contributing for the betterment of organization in a best possible way, supporting the social activities driven through HR, CSR etc(optional)

Eligibility/Required Qualifications:

  • Total experience at least 7years in field of testing, validation, R&D in the machinery industries (for example but not limited to, Injection molding machineries, Automotive & sister industries, Hydraulic industry, Steel, Heavy machineries) with high/standard production volume.
  • Bachelor engineering degree (Min required qualification) in Mechatronics, Instrumentations, Control & automation, Electronics, or similar engineering discipline from an accredited 4-year college or university. Master’s degree would be preferred.
  • Good analytical skills are must to drive the functional needs from product performance & reliability.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of handling the measurements & knowledge on analysis of strain, stress, vibration, deflections & other mechanical properties using DAQ systems e.g. Siemens lms or Simcenter, NI Labview, Automation software or similar etc.
  • Experience of handling the measurements & knowledge on hydraulics systems, electricals & electronics system, sensors, instrumentation.
  • Able to read, interpret & understand hydraulic schematics, GA drawings, Mechanical & hydraulic drawings, hydraulic bar charts etc.
  • Experience in utilizing DFMEA and similar tools for an impact on successful product launches will be a plus.
  • Proficient in English language (verbal and written communications).

General Guidelines

Activities include undertaking tests in research and development to improve the organization's products and services; testing, and operating equipment; ensuring that standards of reliability, timeliness, and performance are met. Interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications; developing and testing theories under various conditions. Providing technical support on a variety of technical tasks including Debugging and troubleshooting failed components, assemblies and systems using test equipment and schematics. Troubleshooting and resolving technical problems to minimize the risks for uninterrupted product performance at customer end. Ability to recognize and solve typical problems, without supervisory approval. Manages own workload, with periodic guidance under moderate supervision.

Physical Demands: 

Physical and Sensory demands are representative of an employee working in a fast-paced office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision requirements are good general vision, the ability to distinguish between colors, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

Work Environment:

Office environments. The employee may be occasionally exposed to moving equipment, mechanical parts in motion, risk of shock, and other hazards associated with a manufacturing environment such as overhead cranes, welding, machining, painting, etc. The noise level is moderate; safety boots and eye protection will be required to be used.
