SENIOR AUTOMATION ENGINEERS! help to shape Wayfair’s European Innovation & Test Centre for industrial engineering, focused on driving continuous improvement, ingenuity through the exploration, piloting and implementation of new technology into our fulfilment operations.

What You'll Do

  • Support the material flow and area planning for our warehouse operations in Europe
  • Conduct analyses to select warehousing technology for our European sites
  • Assist the procurement of various supply chain solutions including hardware, software & supporting technology
  • Support the implementation of material handling systems that enable capacity and productivity improvements
  • Contribute to process development and improvement initiatives to achieve Operational Excellence
  • Conduct Motion and Time(MTM) Studies for the development of future engineered labour standards
  • Develop and document the processes and the concepts of the projects
  • Plan processes and design warehouse layouts (AutoCAD, SketchUp)

What You'll Have 

  • Proven experience successfully operating within an Industrial, Automation and or Process Engineering role.
  • Ideally, both German and English language fluency (we will consider one language at B2 level).
  • Demonstrable material handling equipment experience including design, business case creation, and piloting of equipment.
  • Educated within an engineering discipline (industrial/ mechanical/ robotic/ automation), or qualified by experience.  Any knowledge of logistics, manufacturing or supply chain operation but not essential. 
  • Effective project and stakeholder management skills; someone who can effectively leverage collaborative partnerships with cross-functional teams & 3rd party vendors whilst maintaining focus and momentum to deliver impactful change 
  • A detail oriented mindset with strong analytical and organizational prioritization to meet tight timeframes.
  • Intermediate user knowledge of IT systems (Microsoft Office/ Google), AutoCAD, SketchUp and data technologies (for example: SQL, Data Studio, Big Query, Tableau)
  • Ideally, knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and ecommerce fulfilment, although this is not essential and can be learnt on the job.
