The team:

Murex management place a strong emphasis on legal matters, which is somewhat exceptional in its industry.  This gives the legal department an important role within Murex but is also predicated on an expectation of maintaining very high standards, notably strong legal judgment based on an up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of black letter law and the ability to communicate this coherently and effectively and to apply it with commercial common-sense.  The department is also expected to follow a globally consistent policy which is typically established centrally and with close senior management participation, leading to a heightened need for consultation within the department (and when necessary with management) in the event that deviations are proposed.
