Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in support of the facility. In this role, the technician will work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and controls.  Strong logical-thinking and troubleshooting skills are critical. This position is critical to the safe and efficient operation of the Melrose cheese manufacturing facility.

WAGE: $32.76 Hour

LOCATION: Melrose, MN

HOURS: Weekend Shift 5pm-5am. Rotating 3-4-3 weekend schedule.

  • Friday – Sunday
  • Friday - Monday

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years experience -Prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

                                    OR

  • 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment, dairy experience a plus

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ensuring the complete safety of oneself and one’s co-workers at all times
  • Knowledge of equipment for proper performance and to detect faults and malfunctions, and to make proper repairs
  • Familiarity with performing regular maintenance, possibly including corrections and alterations, on a machine or piece of equipment to ensure it remains in production
  • Arriving on time, reliably completing tasks by the deadline, and adapting to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and possess basic mathematical skills
  • Working well with others to meet team goals and adjusting to important changes
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant processing equipment. Address errors that occur with machines and makes determination of repairs needed.
