Team/Role Overview:
The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is an independent global group within Product Control responsible for reviewing and reporting fair value inventory consistently across asset classes.
VCG is organized along business lines and clients of the group include Business Heads, Line Product Control, Market Risk, Model Risk, Compliance, Legal Department, Middle Office, Internal Audit, external audit firms and the regulatory bodies in countries impacted by Citi’s footprint. VCG collaborates closely with its client base to ensure complete understanding of business valuation issues and accurate execution of valuation control policy.
Valuation Control Intermediate Analyst is responsible for ensuring the completeness, accuracy and integrity of the bank's books and records in coordination with the Finance Team. The overall objective of this role is to control and support data integrity and general ledger reconciliation, profit attribution and new activity analysis, valuation control and product P&L, and balance sheet reporting.
What you will do:
Solve issues under little to no supervision, including complex problems
Apply in-depth knowledge of industry standards and practices to daily tasks
Analyze situations and data utilizing data analysis tools and methodologies
Provide solutions for varied issues that potentially impact the broader business
Communicate information clearly and succinctly
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made
What we'll need from you:
2-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in a financial control, valuation, product control or a related discipline (e.g. market risk etc.)
Financial products and valuation control related knowledge would be a strong advantage
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical skills
Quantitative background/experience would be a great asset
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Strong organizational, interpersonal and project management skills
Fluent English (verbal/written) at min. B2 level
Education:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any finance, economics or quantitative related subject
