Overview

Manages Community Outreach staff which includes assisting in the identification, planning, coordination, and implementation of events in the community that support and increase the visibility of VNS Health Plans. Monitors events to ensure effective community outreach. Works closely with Health Plan leadership in developing new and strengthening existing relationships with key organizations, community leaders, centers of influence (e.g., Providers, IPA's, and LHSCAs), and other agencies that serve VNS Health Plans member and member prospect populations. Works under general direction.

Compensation Range:$85,000.00 - $106,300.00 Annual

What You Will Do

  • Develops and delivers informational presentations to promote VNS Health Plans, including marketing events and offerings to key providers, health facilities, community-based leaders and organizations/agencies.
  • Leads the Community Outreach staff in development, promotion and coordination of publicity for community events.
  • Identifies appropriate campaigns and sponsorships by gathering pertinent data from the community and contacts.
  • Participates in preparing the special events budget and monitors expenses against the budget.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with community, civic, ethnic, faith-based and elected leaders, as well as healthcare professionals and other centers of influence (e.g., IPAs, and LHSCAs).
  • Promotes community "goodwill" by participating in community boards, committees and activities.
  • Assists leadership in the acquisition of promotional items and rate negotiations with vendors.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships to facilitate the identification of eligible members from provider-based sales channels.
  • Coordinates provider initiatives with other areas of VNS Health Plans, specifically Partnership Development and Marketing.
  • Tracks project progress with respect to time and targets. Prepares detailed progress report for all assigned projects on a monthly basis.
  • Provides continuous feedback to key VNS Health Plans network providers. Recommends resolutions and adjusts project planning, tactics and strategies as needed.
  • Participates in committees and leads Community Outreach staff in defining business requirements and reviewing related functional requirements related to various assigned projects.
  • Performs all duties inherent in a managerial role. Ensures effective staff training, interviews candidates for employment, evaluates staff performance, and recommends hiring, promotions, salary actions and terminations, as appropriate.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, a related field, or the equivalent work experience, required


Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five years experience in marketing, sales, public relations, community relations, fund-raising, or other relevant experience, required
  • Experience in health care setting, preferred
  • Strong analytic skills including knowledge of SWOT, Gap and Competitive analysis, required
  • Business acumen including a deep knowledge of relevant regulations, required
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and organizational skills, required
  • Must be self-directed and able to work independently.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
  • Access to an active Driver's License and transportation between sites, required
