The Manager, Pricing is a key leader responsible for developing and executing pricing strategies that optimize profitability within our asset-based transportation division. This role will leverage data-driven insights and business intelligence to support decision-making, ensuring our transportation solutions remain competitive and efficient. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and finance, to drive innovation, efficiency, and market responsiveness.

What you will do:

Pricing Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Develop, implement, and manage pricing strategies to maximize profitability while ensuring competitive market positioning.
  • Conduct market analysis and monitor industry trends to adjust pricing models proactively.
  • Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to understand customer requirements and tailor pricing solutions accordingly.
  • Ensure pricing models support operational cost structures and capacity utilization.

Business Intelligence and Data Analytics:

  • Lead business intelligence efforts by creating, maintaining, and improving data models, dashboards, and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Use advanced data analytics to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities within the transportation network.
  • Provide actionable insights to leadership to inform strategic decisions, including fleet utilization, route optimization, and customer pricing models.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze the financial performance of transportation services, identifying revenue leakage, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for margin improvement.
  • Prepare regular pricing performance reports, including profitability analysis, pricing elasticity, and market competitiveness.
  • Support annual budget planning and forecasting activities for transportation operations.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Work closely with finance, sales, operations, and customer service teams to align pricing strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Communicate pricing strategies and market conditions to senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of analysts responsible for pricing and business intelligence functions.

Process Improvement and Innovation:

  • Continuously improve pricing tools, models, and processes, incorporating feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research and implement innovative technologies and practices to enhance pricing accuracy and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Drive process efficiencies and cost reductions through data-driven decision-making.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in pricing, data analytics, or business intelligence, preferably in transportation or supply chain logistics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing pricing strategies in an asset-based transportation environment.
  • Proficient in business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, and data modeling tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a fast-paced environment.
