Mary Washington Healthcare is one of the last independent healthcare systems in the country. In 1899, this system began as an eight-room hospital in Fredericksburg, VA. Today, this nonprofit system has evolved into two hospitals with a Level II trauma center, three emergency departments, and over 50 healthcare facilities and wellness services.

Our practice currently performs 300 cardiac cases each year and is the exclusive physician anesthesia services provider for Mary Washington Healthcare. Our group provides services at Mary Washington Hospital, Stafford Hospital, and Fredericksburg Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department

• Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures

• Pre-anesthesia assessment

• Obtain and/or verify patient consent

• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient

• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia

• Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition

• Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements

• M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine

• ECFMG and FLEX

• Completion of approved residency in anesthesia

• Currently licensed as a physician
