Are you ready to make a difference? Join the WellStar Enterprise Support Team (WEST) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in our Float Pool! This exciting opportunity allows you to work across various units based on staffing needs, utilizing your unique skills to provide exceptional patient care wherever you’re needed most.

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at WellStar, you'll provide critical respiratory care and education under the guidance of the RC Manager/Director. Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Delivering comprehensive patient care in complex situations, primarily in critical care settings.

  • Educating patients and their families while mentoring new staff and students.

  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to plan and implement effective care strategies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Ensure thorough patient assessments, documentation, and education while promoting a positive team environment.

  • Quality Patient Care: Administer therapies, manage ventilators, perform assessments, and provide specialized care, including assisting in invasive procedures.

  • Safety: Maintain high patient safety standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved program in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Sciences; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Licenses/Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required

    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - Required

    • Additional certifications (e.g., NRP, PALS) preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current RT experience.

Skills

  • Strong communication and critical thinking abilities.

  • Excellent relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals.

  • Proficient in computer use and familiar with healthcare databases.
