Are you a welder with the ability to maintain qualifications in all welding processes?  Can you take on a lead role in planning and directing others in pipeline projects?  Well if so, then this is the opportunity for you!

What you will do:

  • Passes and maintains qualifications in the welding processes routinely used in our operations as specified in API 1104, Section 3.

  • Safely operates and maintains oxyacetylene equipment and is able to perform welding procedures using the SMAW process as required in the Area.

  • Constructs basic fabrications using blueprints, lay-outs, as-builts and other construction-type drawings and to assist in more complicated fabrications.

  • Identifies pipe, valves and fittings as to size and wall thickness using mechanical or electronic measurement devices.

  • Stays abreast of gas handling, NDT and pressure testing procedures.

  • Maintains working knowledge of safe work practices related to welding, cutting or related activities.

  • Completes reports accurately and completely.

  • Directs other employees in performance of routine pipeline-related activities.

  • Recognizes and reacts to abnormal conditions associated with duties.

  • Assists in planning work and contributing budget related information as required, consistent with the annual budgeting process.

  • Consistently works in a safe, responsible manner and actively participates in safely related programs.

  • Actively participates as a work group team member and maintains a cooperative work relationship with fellow employees.

  • Performs work in compliance with Company policies/procedures as well as external regulatory bodies, such as Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.

Who you are:

You have the following education and/or experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent education.

  • Five years of directly relevant training and experience.

  • Must reside or is willing to relocate within 30 Miles of the assigned reporting location.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License.

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.

  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends, shift, be on call and standby and travel overnight as required.

  • Possesses the desire to learn and advance, as a Welder.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Excel and Word.

  • Able to work independently with little to no direction.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Able to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honestly and openness are valued.

  • Proven ability to drive and perform job safely.

  • Innovative problem solver without compromising SOPs.

  • Willing to assume responsibility and take initiative to resolve issues.

Physical Requirements:  

Include but are not limited to: Balancing, bending and stooping, climbing, crawling, carrying (up to 25 pounds), grasping, kneeling, lifting (up to 25 pounds), pulling hand over hand, pushing, reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, walking, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.
