The Red Hat Ansible Engineering team (https://www.ansible.com/) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Bangalore, India. If you are a highly motivated professional who wants to work with a high performing team to deliver a high quality user experience for our customers, then please read on.

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Ansible organization, you will be working across geos with technical team members to analyze, design, develop, debug, and deliver new products and feature functionality for the Ansible offerings.   You will get an opportunity to collaborate with diverse agile teams around the world to deliver value for our customers and partners in an open source way. What will you do?

• Develop and maintain software to automatically provision, upgrade, monitor, and heal Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.

• Work with technical leads and the business to understand feature requirements. Help break requirements down into smaller units of work. 

• Ability to work on-site or Hybrid in Bangalore, India

• Contribute to all aspects of product delivery, including design/architecture, development, testing, documentation, and deployment.

What will you bring?

• Passion for learning new technologies, building elegant software systems, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and automation.

• Software development experience using Python or Golang.

• Experience with utilizing container management platforms and development environments like Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker/Docker Compose

• Experience with other configuration management and infrastructure as code tooling such as HashiCorp Terraform

• Advanced knowledge of software development life cycle tools, like GitHub and Jenkins.

• Software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile or scrum processes

• Ability to coordinate and help others solve difficult problems

• Strong written and spoken English skills

• Able to work in a fast-paced project. 

The following is considered a plus:

• Writing Ansible playbooks and administering the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform

• Familiarity with observability platforms (such as Dynatrace, DataDog, etc) are a plus.

• Cloud native development/administration experience 

• Prior experience working on a globally distributed, remote team

• Working on large-scale projects utilizing version control, open-source experience

• Cloud skills
