The role 

 

The Product Inspired Research team collaborates with product and research teams inside Alphabet to incubate groundbreaking research and deploy advanced machine learning algorithms to improve Alphabet products and services. 

As a Technical Program Manager, you will apply program management methodologies to multiple initiatives, balancing progress and risk to deliver sustainable change to meet objectives.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of projects designed to achieve highly impactful applications of machine learning, keeping teams focused and productive
  • Work with your project team to organize and optimize work into clear goals and objectives
  • Track progress, maintain up-to-date information and relevant technical documentation, anticipate and propose solutions to issues and risks
  • Partner closely with your engineering team lead as a strategic thought partner
  • Facilitate conversations, meetings and opportunities for collaboration, both within Google DeepMind and across Alphabet product teams, to drive the best outcomes; create connections and relationships
  • Evaluate and improve processes, tools, templates and documentation for repeatability and sustainability
  • Learn new business and technical skills quickly, adapt to changing environments while providing day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks

Minimum Qualifications


  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in program management, able to navigate through ambiguity and adjust and adapt plans and strategies as project conditions change
  • Able to foster respect, inclusion, and collaboration when working with teams, and skilled in building relationships and fostering trust with a diverse group of people
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas to their essence
  • Proactive about learning and acquiring knowledge to enhance your domain knowledge
  • Technical degree or equivalent working knowledge
  • Knowledge of, or curious to learn about AI/machine learning research

Preferred Qualifications


 

  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $142,000 - $219,000+ bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
