We are seeking a versatile and dedicated individual with a passion for the maritime industry to join us as a permanent full-time Operations & Technical Coordinator, working Monday to Friday across our Sydney operations. This role involves assisting the port team in managing and maintaining tugboats across both Port Botany (where you will be based) and Port Jackson (outside our Balmain Office). Flexibility to travel between ports and adapt to diverse work requirements will be key to your success in this role.

What You Will Do
Your key responsibilities will include:
Provide technical and operational support to crew and vessels operating in our Sydney ports.
Coordinate the procurement of parts, consumables, stores, and equipment necessary for the maintenance and operation of our vessels.
Engage and oversee contractors for the maintenance and repairs of vessels and shore facilities.
Support and manage computer-based initiatives and tools, including the planned maintenance system and safety management systems.
Ensure all vessel survey requirements are met and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Assist the Technical Superintendent in the preparation, planning, and execution of technical projects.
What You Will Need To Succeed

The ability to work effectively in a team environment, while taking initiative and being proactive in completing tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to think on your feet in fast-changing situations.
Calm and respectful communication skills when dealing with stakeholders, ensuring positive and effective interactions.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and data with a high level of accuracy and understanding.
Willingness to travel between operational sites, providing hands-on support across multiple locations.
The following experience will be highly regarded:
Previous experience in the maritime industry (offshore, fishing, or shipbuilding), with a keen interest in career growth in an onshore position
Marine certificates are highly regarded and can greatly enhance your application.
Familiarity with classification societies and statutory bodies is desirable, but can also be learned on the job
