The Section of Infectious Diseases at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan is recruiting a Pediatric ID physician to provide clinical care to the children in West and Northern Michigan. Applicants must be board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric infectious diseases and have a commitment to patient care and trainee education. This position has the opportunity for a faculty title through Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.
Position Details:
Inpatient pediatric infectious diseases consults in a full spectrum of clinical spaces caring for hospitalized children, including those cared for in medical, surgical, NICU, PICU, Cardiac and Neurocritical Care ICU, Hematology, Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, and subspecialty services including Pulmonary, Nephrology, Endocrinology and Gastroenterology teams
Outpatient clinic care in general and immunocompromised infectious diseases patients, alongside support staff including Social Work, Nursing and an ID Pharmacist
Teaching of medical students, residents, and clinical fellows ** Fellowship program that began July 2023**
Growth opportunities including Fellowship Program Director and Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship and scholarly activity
The section has responsibilities for Antimicrobial Stewardship (inpatient and outpatient), Infection Prevention and involvement in Pediatric HIV and Travel medicine
