Director, DEI Grants and Engagement Programs

Position Summary:

The Director, DEI Grants and Engagement Programs will be responsible for developing, implementing, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, as well as fostering strong relationships with the local community. This role will be responsible for the cohesiveness and integration of the grant project initiatives and teams with one another and ensuring their integration and connectivity to the university’s other DEI and strategic projects. The program director will have experience managing DEI programs, preferably in post-secondary settings. Work closely with various departments, stakeholders, and community organizations to ensure the University's commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in its programs, policies, and engagement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive DEI strategy aligned with the company's mission, values, and business objectives.

• Collaborate with a team of representatives from across the organization to include Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Marketing and Communications, ePMO, and Data Analytics, to manage and oversee progress towards Equity Audit targets.

• Collaborate with other key stakeholders to design and oversee diversity and equity programs, including Voice of the student, employee, and other diversity training initiatives.

• Conduct regular assessments and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of diversity programs and identify areas for improvement. Serve as a liaison between the company and community organizations, building partnerships and fostering positive relationships.

• Develop and execute community outreach and civic strategies to promote the company's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and forums to raise awareness about DEI issues and initiatives.

• Manage the budget for diversity grant programs and community outreach activities.

• Provide guidance and support to senior leadership on DEI matters and report on the progress of DEI programs and initiatives.

• Stay current with DEI trends, best practices, and legislation to ensure the University remains compliant and proactive in its approach.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Program/Project Management, Business Administration, Higher Education Leadership, or a related field. PMP preferred.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in program management, diversity, equity, and inclusion, community outreach, or a related field.

• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful DEI programs and initiatives.

• Strong understanding of DEI best practices, trends, and legislation.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community organizations.

• Experience in managing budgets and analyzing data to measure program effectiveness.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

• Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and community.

• Reports to Vice President and Chief Diversity and Equity Officer

Note: This is a Hybrid role that requires at least 2 days per week in the office, participation in communities of practice, and occasional travel to activities outside of regular business hours
