The Opportunity
To better enable our highest volume region, the Americas Business Partner team is being reimagined to support our business through a period of unprecedented growth and change. You will step into a true greenfield landscape with the mandate to design, hand-pick, and build a team from the ground up, shaped not by legacy structures but by what a modern business partner organization should be in the AI-enabled era. Working with the VP, IT – Americas, you will define how the business and IT engage across the Americas for the next phase of JCI’s growth.
Key influences include how AI is reshaping IT demand, howe we prioritize work, accelerate delivery, and serve the business — and this role will lead ongoing adaptation to the realities of AI in our processes. The Business System will also influence how this team drive process change, simplification and solve problems. You and the team will be hands-on in providing tools and changes to help our customers and front-line employees, using these toolkits. Now is the time to set the vision for what partnership between business and IT looks like: faster, more data-driven, more anticipatory, and far more deeply embedded in the operations of the region we serve. This is not a maintenance role. It is a builder’s role, with the autonomy to create the team, the operating model, the culture, and drive results that we’re proud of.
The scope is genuinely broad. You will partner across the entirety of the Americas — spanning HVAC, Fire, and Security, and reaching across Canada and Latin America in addition to the United States. You will contribute to how we enable the region to execute on the rapid expansion of Data Centers, which will count on the software systems in the Americas. You will be a key force in the Lean and Agile transformation that is changing how Johnson Controls works. For the right leader, this is one of the most consequential and creative roles in Americas IT.
About the Role
The Leader of the Americas Business Partner team is the strategic bridge between business stakeholders, technology product managers, and the broader IT organization. The role leverages deep regional relationships and a clear view of business priorities to drive a continuous, Agile-style roadmap — translating what the Americas needs into a living IT backlog, and keeping the business informed of progress and the IT decisions that affect them. The leader understands the distinct market dynamics of the Americas and connects those needs to the business and IT teams responsible for delivering against them, operating in a matrix that reaches into every IT function.
