Summary:
As an Operations Engineer, you will support the operations and manage delivery for production systems and services based on operational requirements and service agreements. Your typical day will involve monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with team members to ensure seamless service delivery. You will engage in proactive maintenance and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, ensuring that all systems run efficiently and effectively to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities Technical Experience Professional Attributes Educational Qualification:
• Plan and implement medium to high risk changes on high profile production Oracle systems
• Analyze and assess the impact and risk of low to medium risk changes on high profile production databases.
• Resolve difficult/complex incidents affecting the operation/availability of high profile production databases and Oracle apps instances.
• Basic knowledge of Linux commands to analyze Memory, CPU, Disk, Network and Database owned processes.
• Install, configure, patch and maintain Oracle database software including Grid Infrastructure software.
• Manage and Support Oracle Exadata Cloud Customer Database systems on OCI.
• Resource allocation / modification of database instance from OCI console.
• Create and Manage Oracle Multi-Tanent (CDB/PDB) architecture.
• Manage and support High Availablity architecture like RAC / DataGuard.
• Manage and support various database backup strategies such as RMAN & Datapump.
• Manage data recovery (physical / user data).
• Analyze system performance indicators and recommend improvement actions through OEM
• Review the problem management register and implement actions.
• Co-ordinate with vendor for urgent support needs through support-channels like metalink.
• Make pro-active suggestions for service improvements.
• Should contribute on Automation activities.
• Proficient knowledge in Oracle Exadata Infrastructure
• Performing ExaCC database release to new levels as per vendors' suggestion.
• Database recover (PITR / Incomplete) through RMAN.
• Database clone using RMAN backup & Active duplication
• Cross environment database restore using RMAN.
• DR setup with dataguard broker (High Availability)
• Standby database rebuild
• Perform database switchover/failover(DRP)
• Database RAC Administration including GI home.
• ASM Diskgroup management
• Database performance tuning
• Cloud Control/OEM configuration
• Database migration(cross platform)
• Container database build and restoration.
• Pluggable database build and restoration.
• Knowledge of PLSQL
• Good bash scripting skills to automate manual tasks.
• Working knowledge on AWS RDS.
Good to Have:
• OID / LDAP, OIM, OKV working experience.
• Tablespace Data Encryption & Wallet.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to connect with customers at varying levels of the organization.
• Ability to operate independently and make decisions with little direct supervision
• Flexible to work in 24/7 shift
• Must be a team player
• Must be capable to upscale and take initiative to deliver the task independently.
• Must be open to learn and and work on new technologies.
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. ITIL Foundation certified
3. Prefered to have Oracle Exadata certification.
4. AWS Associate level certification."
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle Database Administration (DBA).
- This position is based at our Pune office.
