What You’ll Do
Global Business Services - Strategy & Business Operations develops and stands up Telstra's corporate strategy, and oversees its business operations.
Your pivotal role includes identifying and translating trends into actionable business improvements and strategic plans. Additionally, you will lead the design and development of critical data reports, ensuring effective communication of results to stakeholders across the business unit.
You will demonstrate strong expertise in data analytics, uncovering insights and trends to drive enhanced performance aligned with business goals.
In your role you will use your critical thinking and problem solving skills, leveraging your data management skills to deliver on key business outcomes.
Role Purpose
The Telstra Credit Risk Acquisitions & Treatment business unit exists for the purpose of delivering high performing Credit Risk services to Telstra. This includes the delivery of all Credit Risk Strategies and the day to day operational management of these strategies.
In your role as Data Insights & Analytics Analyst you will contribute to the key business and strategic objectives by providing the data, analytics, insights, and trends or improvement opportunities that will help to deliver enhanced performance against business goals and objectives.
Your role will be crucial in providing the data and insights that will also inform the business operations of your area with a focus on opportunities for improvement, also aiding in the formulation of tactical response plans.
Your contribution will be vital in shaping financial models that enable Telstra to effectively identify and manage risk, driving our success forward.
You will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders across the business to ensure that meaningful action plans can be developed.
As an important member of the Credit Risk Acquisitions & Treatment team, you will bring a solid business acumen, critical thinking, sound communications skills, and will build and maintain relationships across Telstra to ensure your success in the role.
This is how you bring the purpose of your role to life:
• Conducting advanced data analysis using statistical techniques and tools to derive insights from large datasets
• Creating reports and dashboards to present findings and insights in a clear and actionable manner to stakeholders using tool such as Power BI
• Providing strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights to support decision-making processes within the organization. This could involve forecasting, trend analysis, and predictive modelling
• Overseeing data collection processes, ensuring data quality, and implementing data governance practices to maintain reliable and consistent data sources.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams including business analysts, business stakeholders and members of the leadership team to understand business needs and help to solve through your analytical skills
• Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and company policies related to data handling and reporting.
• Driving the development of the Data Insights strategy for your area, ensuring data quality, and integrity at all times
• Managing stakeholder relationships and working with your leader and team members to align work program with the strategic direction of the business
About You
Key Skills & Technical Expertise
• Proven experience working as a Data Analyst in complex data landscapes in large Enterprise environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, adept at tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
• Commercial acumen and extensive business experience across various domains
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and data querying languages.
• Experience in creating impactful visualizations and dashboards using tools like Power BI, ensuring effective data presentation.
• Knowledgeable in predictive modelling and machine learning algorithms, with hands-on experience in model building and deployment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• Expertise in reporting, ETL, analytics, and visualization tools.
• Specific competencies include analytics insights, data automation, decision-making, influential communications, data governance management, networking, operational process improvements, problem-solving, relationship management, and strategic thinking.
