The Regulatory Risk Officer is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within consumer credit risk and provides oversight (as second line of defense Risk function) including within scope regulatory exercises, e.g. CECL and CCAR loss forecasting. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
This role sits in the Retail Portfolio Management organization within USPB Risk which sets standards for Personal Banking on CECL, CCAR, other quarterly loss forecasting processes and strategic plan, oversees the application of those standards (including review and challenge of all the models used in those processes and outcomes). It also provides risk oversight, leadership and guidance to the Retail Risk businesses.
This position will work in concert with In-business Risk Portfolio managers, analysts, and internal functions, to coordinate retail forecasts for broader corporate consumption, to prepare, summarize & analyze data, understand the key drivers of loss forecast outcomes, maintain a strong understanding of the processes, as well as risks and opportunities.
