Who will you be working with?

The Trade Compliance Specialist will join the International Trade Compliance (ITC) team who facilitates compliance with customs and export control laws & regulations while supporting business operations and savings optimization through centralized, standard process controls.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the ITC team, you will support Wabtec in ensuring compliant global trade and continually developing processes and procedures to increase risk management. You will be responsible for process creation, maintenance, and improvement while having the opportunity to implement those procedures across all of Wabtec businesses, interacting with a cross-functional network of teams. In addition, you will oversee, work with, and learn from best-in-class compliance service providers to execute and advance Wabtec’s program.

Experience for a successful Trade Compliance Specialist:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Customs Certified Specialist or broker's license (preferred)
  • 3-5 years with working knowledge of customs and trade regulations
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and international logistics
  • Analytical or functional compliance role experience

What will your typical day look like?

  • Provide oversight, direction and audit the performance of trade compliance service providers.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement trade compliance and operational synergies to reduce cost and regulatory risk.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve trade compliance issues and implement process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on trade compliance matters.
  • Execute to defined standard work.
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative changes within the industry.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain processes and procedures supporting complaint international trade.
