The Lead Business Process Specialist is responsible to ensure the accurate completion of SAP-based Order Management Process (OMP) projects and business requests. This includes working with multiple business partners to document their needs and requirements of the engine business community as well as designing, testing, and implementing logical solutions to break fixes & enhancements in SAP-based Order Management Process (OMP). This position supports the Engine “quote to cash” process globally and works closely with business partners in Product groups, Industries, IT, tax, accounting, account coordinators and transportation as an SME (subject matter expert) for the order management process. This is an exciting opportunity to have visibility of different types of projects within the Energy & Transportation segment, expand business acumen and leadership skills.

What you will do:

  • Ensure project execution and delivery across all workstreams, structure and lead teams, manager overall project plan with development, deployment, and on-going maintenance, risk and issue log management and ensure solution functional works across the OMP (Order Management Process) portfolio.
  • Consult on business partners requirements and propose solutions and business cases.
  • Provide functional configuration, maintenance, and support for Customer Solution Quoter (Dealer Ordering tool), Sales and Distribution (SD), Design to Order (DTO), and OMP interfaces to legacy systems
  • Document and communicate business issues to a technical team so issues may be routinely identified and resolved.
  • Consult with technical team on the design for system break/fix and enhancements of technical projects.
  • Ensure that the design and implementation of technologies are compliant with existing standards and processes.
  • Reduce work-around processes to simplify quote to invoice process.
     

What You Have:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Core Application Systems: SAP Sales and Distribution extensive knowledge

  • Helps create contingency plans for core applications.
  • Identifies key players, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Investigates application-related issues.
  • Recommends enhancements and/or solutions for major application systems.
  • Clarifies development methodologies or processes.
  • Explains relevant documentation, standards, policies, and practices.
  • Documents phases, activities, deliverables, and processes.

Business Analysis: Expert level

  • Champions the use and development of new techniques for business analysis.
  • Demonstrates Intellectual curiosity when dealing with the business requests    
  • Creates lists of business scenarios for evaluating performance of the system’s changes.
  • Establishes best practices, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Trains others to achieve optimum results.

Analytical Thinking: Extensive experience

  • Seeks discrepancies and explains variances when analyzing business cases.
  • Organizes and prioritizes steps to remedy situations.
  • Identifies possible causes for problems.
  • Quantifies costs, benefits, risks, and chances for success.
  • Breaks down complex problems into components.

Communication: Extensive experience

  • Ability to simplify complex information and develop clear communications and presentation materials to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple cultures and countries

Top candidates will also have:

  • Experience with Order Fulfillment processes
  • Experience with Lean principles and practices
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar organization, products, policies, and procedures

Additional Info:

  • This position will be located in our Mossville, IL office
  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

  • International and Domestic travel up to 5%
