What You'll Do

The Strategic Finance & Investor Relations Associate will play an important role in helping Cloudflare achieve and exceed its growth and profitability goals. You will work with many facets of the business to provide visibility on all things financial to key stakeholders, performing important analyses, surfacing new insights, and influencing the strategic direction of the company. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, able to communicate financial insights, and recommend appropriate actions. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Perform financial, strategic, and competitive analyses, including industry and peer benchmarking, market/valuation trends, financial and unit economic modeling and ad-hoc projects to support strategic and financial initiatives
  • Support quarterly earnings process and annual Investor Day, including preparation of earnings press releases, prepared remarks, financial outlook, Q&A prep materials, various financial analyses, and accompanying investor and board presentations
  • Build models and leverage data analysis to develop a robust understanding of key metrics and drivers, understand complex relationships, identify and synthesize key trends
  • Review and analyze sell-side analyst research and models, consensus estimates, analyst and investor perceptions/opinions and market-related trends impacting valuation and market perception
  • Maintain corporate long-term financial model and develop forecasting models to help the company manage long-term growth and opportunity
  • Support the collection and analysis of investor ownership, shareholder movements, and investor targeting along with content management of the investor relations website
  • Partner closely with FP&A, Accounting, Business Intelligence, Legal, Sales Ops, Marketing, Special Projects, and Communications, to understand drivers, trends, opportunities, and to share insights and recommendations
  • This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance & Investor Relations

Examples Of Desirable Skills, Knowledge And Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other relevant field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in equity research, investment banking, at a buy-side investment firm, and/or a strategic finance / investor relations role at a public software/technology company
  • Sophisticated financial and analytical skills with ability to interpret information and financial concepts for executive management, board of directors, and the investment community
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of technology and software business models, with desire and capacity to learn about our industry, products, competitors and other key audiences
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, and Google Slides; experience with financial research tools such as FactSet is a plus
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and high attention to detail with the ability to keep the big picture in mind
  • Highly-motivated, energetic, and resourceful team player who is results-oriented and able to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

 

Compensation

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

  • For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $112,000 - $136,000
  • For New York City, Washington, and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $ 125,000- $153,000
  • For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $131,000 - $161,000
