The Impact You’ll Make in this Role :

As the JP Payroll and Services Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Supervise and lead the Japan payroll and services team members.

Keeping oneself updated of the changes in local statutory requirements and ensuring that payroll and services are complied with the changes.

Continuous effort in process streamlining to improve the work efficiency of Payroll and services.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and lead the JP Payroll and Services team to ensure compliance to JP law, timely and accurate service delivery through effective processes built in place.

•Execution of the lodgment service delivery (Year-End-Adjustment exercise, social/ labor insurance filing, resident tax filing, etc) in compliance to JP legislation.

Partnership with JP Payroll specialist and outsourced payroll vendor to complete pay cycle.

Staying abreast of local laws, regulations, best practices and executing processes that comply with regulations while ensuring alignment with Global payroll standards.

Continuous effort in process streamlining and improvement to improve the work efficiency and productivity.

Collaborate with other HR functions to leverage expertise and resource to deliver value-added solutions.

Data reporting in government platforms.

Provide expertise in Tax reporting for equity gains relating to different stock option plans and variances relating to posting of payroll related cost.

Exercises discretion in matters of confidentiality.

Protects the corporation and assures 3M values and policies are upheld and complied with, as well as that 3M processes  are  implemented  as  appropriate.  Ensures  compliance  with  3M  Business  Conduct  Policies  and  other policies and teaches and acts as an example of uncompromising ethics.

Other projects/ duties as assigned.

our Skills and Expertise  To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:A Bachelor level university degree. At least 10 years of combined experience payroll, human resource, and/or finance in multinational company and experience in leading a small team.Strong Proficiency in English and Japanese.Sound knowledge in local legislation.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)Experience in Workday and SAP payroll systems is a plusRegional experience with payroll project or HR process is a plusPayroll vendor management experience is a plusA team player with strong ability to work in a remote environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving and leadership skillsFor current employees, internal transfer restrictions may not apply.
