ROLE OVERVIEW

Benchling is looking for an AR Accountant or Senior AR Accountant to own the billings cycle to support the revenue team. In this role, you will be responsible for various accounts receivable tasks such as calculating monthly billings and ensuring amounts are classified appropriately. This position will be a hybrid role where you will participate in the full cycle Revenue and Order to Cash functions at a SaaS company. This role will be based out of the San Francisco HQ and report to the Head of Revenue Accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform Monthly and Quarterly Reconciliations
  • Manage Billing and Invoicing processes
  • Prepare Journal Entries and Financial Reporting
  • Participate in Revenue Recognition and Compliance Processes
  • Support Cross-Functional Collaboration and Customer Communications
  • Maintain Accurate Billing and AR Data
  • Create Sales Order, Invoices, and Credit Memos in NetSuite
  • Assist with Year-end Audit and Quarterly Reviews

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent with a strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger, and financial statements.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an accounting role
  • Experience with ASC 606 a plus
  • Experience in a SaaS environment with subscription and service products preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting and public company a plus
  • Proficiency using the NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management module a plus
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills including VLOOKUP, if functions, pivot tables, etc.
  • Analytical and motivated to self-educate; able to identify and report relevant issues to management for timely and accurate resolution
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and demands
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and various levels of management as well as external contacts
  • Reliability with strong work ethic, maturity and professionalism to handle confidential data

 

SALARY RANGE

Benchling takes a market-based approach to pay.  The candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and work location. For this role the base salary range is $105,315 to $142,485.
