Job Summary

The primary focus of this job is to conduct warehousing operations for both internal and external clients such as shipping and receiving, storing, and issuing stock of material (stationary supplies, forms, electronic equipment, technical manuals, office equipment and furniture, life-cycle parts for ANS Systems, etc.), stocktaking and special warehouse projects.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Receiving and verifying incoming material against the documentation provided by carriers or vendor packing slips, noting damage or missing boxes, producing identifications labels and inputting data into Maximo.

  • Shipping of orders using multiple online tools in support of hardware and aeronautical publication shipments.

  • Running Desk Top Requisition orders in Maximo.

  • Storing inventory in designated areas, placing appropriate labels on boxes for identification and entering location information into Maximo.

  • Running picklists/packing slips for Aeronautical Publications using the NetSuite system.

  • Packaging and shipping of orders for internal or external customers, including hazardous / dangerous goods.

  • Stock taking (cycle counting) weekly for inventory control.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • Valid Fork Truck Operator Licence

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence

  • WHMIS training or a willingness to undergo training

  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training or a willingness to undergo training

  • High School Diploma

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of warehouse experience.

  • 2 years experience driving a Fork Truck.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of basic warehousing functions.

  • Understanding and practical knowledge of Maximo as it relates to warehousing functions.

  • Understanding and working knowledge of NetSuite as it relates to warehouse functions in support of Aeronautical Publications.

  • Understanding of TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) requirements.

  • Physical strength with the ability to lift 50lbs.

  • Ability to provide clear shipping instructions and communicate effectively.

Working conditions

  • This position is based in Ottawa and is classified as an onsite position. This position is not eligible for a flexible work arrangement.

  • This work is conducted in a warehouse environment, with exposure to heat in summer and cold in winter when bay doors are left open for prolonged periods of time.  Exposure to dust, unpleasant fumes/beeping from a diesel forklift, noise, dirt, and handling of hazardous materials in a warehouse environment with fluorescent lighting.

  • This position is frequently required to sustain Focused concentration while performing shipping functions and when maintaining concentration around moving vehicles / machinery. Focus and concentration are required to retrieve equipment and supplies using a forklift truck.

  • Senses of sight and smell are required to assess hazardous risk in the event of spill or breakage of equipment or materials.
