We are looking for an Operational Excellence Engineer for our ambitious, fast growing team in Bleiswijk. Working in the Operational Excellence team you take a leading role in improving our operations day-to-day!
As an Operational Excellence Engineer, your role involves identifying opportunities for improvement within Production and working closely with our operational team to implement these enhancements. The goal is to foster a culture of operational excellence by reducing costs, creating awareness on safety, increasing efficiency, and delivering the highest quality products to our customers.
Therefore, You have a key role in bringing our current operations to another level (lower cost, better productivity and quality) and support the implementation of the operational excellence culture and roadmap.

- Continuously challenge HelloFresh processes to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing them with the relevant teams.
- Serve as one of the local owners of operational processes, including systems, process design, and improvements.
- Diagnose processes, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize the value chain, enhance quality, and reduce waste and costs.
- Facilitate and coach improvement teams, establishing and maintaining performance metrics to track program success.
- Implement standard work procedures, visual management, and error-proofing mechanisms.
- Guide project teams in identifying the root causes of operational disruptions using problem-solving techniques.
- Follow up on projects to monitor progress, ensure timely action, provide OpEx support, and achieve desired benefits.
- Support the transformation roadmap to an operationally excellent culture in the Distribution Centre as defined by your Team Lead, acting as a change agent within HelloFresh.
- Resolve complex and novel problems that arise in a rapidly growing environment.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting engagement, recognizing achievements, and encouraging feedback from team members.
- Build capability within teams, by targeting training in OpEx tools and methodologies.
- Communicate and propagate OpEx success stories across the business and act as a change agent within HelloFresh.
🍉 These are the ingredients you’ll bring to the team
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Production or Logistics.
- Preferred experience in Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement, in the principles and methodologies of World Class Manufacturing, Lean Management and/or Toyota Production System.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Confident in coaching on continuous improvement tools and systems.
- Knowledge of creating, implementing, and adhering to SOPs, WES, QPS, and Repair Standard Sheets.
- Demonstrable leadership skills, able to navigate and influence others from C-level down to the shop-floor.
- Strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach.
- Familiarity with lean principles and methodologies; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
- Strong commercial acumen, always focused on securing the best outcomes for HelloFresh.
- Proactive, ambitious, and driven to make things happen.
- A quantitative and analytical mindset, with the ability to use data as the basis for decision-making.
- Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is a plus.
