Logan Health Brendan House offers a high level of skilled and rehabilitative care, while encouraging active participation in life. With 110 beds, Brendan House offers skilled nursing for transitional care, long-term care and comfort care, uniquely divided into six pods. The mission of Brendan House is to provide resident-centered care.

This position is responsible for providing quality occupational therapy services set by state practice guidelines, Medicare and Logan Health policies. Meets legal, ethical and institutional standards while adhering to the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the department and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Current Montana OT license.
  • Graduate of an accredited program of Occupational Therapy.
  • Current BLS HCP CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of and skilled in the use of materials and equipment, processes, procedures and techniques currently used in occupational therapy.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and ability to learn other software as needed.
  • Must communicate effectively and maintain cooperative relationships with providers, staff members, patients and the medical community.  Ability to employ tact, diplomacy and compassion with all types of people.
  • Ability to use good judgment, apply a high degree of integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Experience and skill providing hand therapy, splinting, and post-surgical interventions preferred.

Job Duties:

  • *Effectively plans, supervises, delegates and instructs nursing aides, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, OT students, new OT graduates, recently hired OTs and other staff members in an effort to provide services in a competent and efficient manner.
  • *Administers OT treatment to patients relative to age, culture and conditions of patients served by KRMC.
  • *Implements specific and individualized treatment programs for patients according to the principles of OT, hospital policy and payer requirements.
  • Completes all required documentation in a timely manner according to payer guidelines (Medicare, Private Insurance, Medicaid) and Montana practice guidelines for occupational therapy.
  • *Effective communication skills in regards to all aspects of care, i.e. communication with patients, peers, family members, students and team members regarding OT related information.
  • *Collaborates with patient, family and team to develop goals and discharge.
  • *Develops and implements new programs/techniques in area of interest.
  • *Enhances rehabilitation services by participating in projects within the department, the facility and the community.

*Maintains regular and consistent attendance at work as scheduled by department

leadership.

Work Environment:

The outpatient therapy department is attached to The Logan Health Fitness Center.  Work may require entering aquatic area.  Area is well lighted and ventilated.  Most work will be inside but may be required to go outside to accompany patients.  Exposed to communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.  Hazardous materials inventory and MSDS available.  Wears personal protective equipment as needed.  Potential exposure to radiation, noise and solvents.

Schedule Details:

Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.

Schedule:

Primarily weekdays, Monday through Friday.  Eight (8) to ten (10) hour shifts.  May be necessary to work on units other than the assigned unit to maintain staff coverage.
