Director, Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Job Description:
As the Senior Director – MRE, North America, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for maintenance and reliability across a diverse portfolio of facilities throughout North America. You will lead and develop high-performing teams through a hands-on, people-first leadership approach, fostering engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
In close partnership with senior leaders across the Operations organization, you will define, evolve, and execute a North America–wide maintenance and reliability roadmap, establishing consistent standards, driving operational excellence, and ensuring safe, efficient, and scalable operations across all business verticals.
You will…
- Provide executive oversight of MRE operations across North America, including automation and manufacturing systems, facilities, refrigeration, PIT, and site infrastructure, ensuring consistent standards, compliance, reliability, and scalability across a multi-site network.
- Lead and develop a distributed organization of Associate Directors, senior managers, managers, and technical teams, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement through strong leadership, succession planning, and talent development.
- Provide project management and support as assigned for key strategic and building level projects
- Manage outside vendors and facilitate planned and unplanned repairs
- Ensure that maintenance regulations are followed
- Identify problems and brainstorm improvement strategies for the fulfillment centers
- Drive cross-departmental engagement and collaboration on new projects and retrofits
- Oversee operational and capital budgets for your business vertical(s)

You have…
- 10+ years managing maintenance/operations and reliability within the Food/Beverage/Perishables/Distribution industry or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree, required, MBA preferred
- Effective leader and communicator for employees, direct reports, cross-functional teams, and executives
- High level of integrity and ethics with excellent follow-up and follow-through
- Interest in engaging directly with all levels of staff
- Well-versed in recent OSHA regulations and compliance
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics
- Exposure to refrigeration systems
- Knowledgeable in GMP/LEAN and strong continuous improvement and project management skills
- Comfortable working in cold environments with some areas of facility at 40F
- Excitement for working in a start-up environment with an ever-changing environment
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and/or nights and travel approximately 50% of the time
