Job Description
At ACCIONA Agua, we are global leaders in sustainable water infrastructure, delivering innovative solutions in water treatment, desalination, and environmental services. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Manager to join our team and drive commercial excellence across complex infrastructure projects.
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the analysis, interpretation, and management of contracts, ensuring alignment with ACCIONA’s strategic and commercial interests. You will act as a key intermediary between the client and the company, resolving contractual issues, managing risk, and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
This role combines responsibilities both before and after contract award, with a mix of tender activities and project execution.
Contract & Legal Expertise
Analyse and interpret contract clauses and conditions to protect company interests.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations by both ACCIONA and clients.
Resolve disputes and manage contractual risks with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Commercial & Financial Acumen
Lead commercial planning, budgeting, and financial control across projects.
Apply data analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Maintain rigorous reporting and ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
Strategic Tendering & Bid Support
Contribute to tender submissions with commercial and legal insights.
Evaluate procurement risks and opportunities to support competitive bids.
Align bid strategies with client expectations and project goals.
Stakeholder & Supply Chain Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Identify market opportunities and support local industry engagement.
Communicate with the supply chain to ensure transparency and alignment
Procurement Models & Strategy
Evaluate and manage procurement models suited to project needs.
Ensure procurement practices comply with legal and policy frameworks.
Guide procurement strategy based on market conditions and risk exposure.
Project Delivery & Commercial Oversight
Oversee commercial activities across all project phases.
Provide expert legal advice on complex issues, including dispute resolution.
Support project teams in achieving commercial and operational targets.
Required Skills and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
7–10 years’ experience in commercial management within construction or infrastructure, ideally in water treatment or desalination.
Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement models, and risk management.
Proficiency in commercial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Spanish language skills (desirable).
Willingness to travel as required.
