Job Summary

Working collaboratively with a diverse team of individuals to develop innovative and sustainable designs. Within a dynamic design team, the Junior Mechanical Designer plays a fundamental role in the detail engineering and production of heating, cooling, plumbing, and low-carbon energy systems for different building types and applications.

The Junior Designer performs tasks as per the instructions provided by the Intermediate and Senior Design Staff, including but not limited to setting up 2D drawings or 3D building models, performing engineering calculations, drafting, and coordinating with the design team, equipment suppliers, and constructors, to put together design packages to submit to the client.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and perform heating, cooling, and ventilation load calculations (HAP, TAS, Excel, etc.).
  • Design Mechanical and Plumbing systems as per direction provided by Design Staff.
  • Size HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems to suit codes, standards, and requirements provided by Design Staff.
  • Coordinate with equipment providers to prepare mechanical equipment selection based on HVAC and Plumbing systems sizing.
  • Review submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) submitted by the contractors.
  • Ensure applicable sections of the Introba design checklist and Introba's drafting standards are being followed.
  • Set up 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D Revit models and ensure document alignment between the different programs and schedule models.
  • Coordinate mechanical requirements with internal and external disciplines involved in the Project Design Team and with other mechanical services (with support as needed). 

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional engineering design environment
  • University degree, college/technology diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • AutoCAD experience coupled with some design experience in HVAC and Plumbing systems
  • Autodesk Revit
  • Registered EIT


 

Additional Information

Introba is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $60,000 - $90,000 annually for this position and local market.
