The team

Business Operations is the nerve center of the company, leading the charge on planning, business intelligence, performance measurement, and transformational initiatives. The team has deep insight into the metrics that drive the business and works cross-functionally to ensure all Krakenites are working in tandem to reach and exceed Kraken’s goals.

Kraken is seeking an experienced, results-oriented executive to lead Business Operations. Reporting to Kraken’s VP of Strategy, Business Operations, and Expansion,  the Senior Director, Business Operations will lead and develop an existing team with responsibility for executing strategic initiatives that drive significant business impact. The group strives to ensure seamless execution of critical projects across functions, focusing on delivering measurable results and enhancing organizational efficiency. The role of this new leader will be pivotal in fostering data-driven decision-making and ensuring that Business Operations operates as a strategic thought partner to stakeholders across Kraken.

The opportunity

  • Lead Kraken’s annual planning process and own the process of preparing and presenting monthly and quarterly business reviews, board presentations, and internal leadership communications that clearly articulate the key drivers of Kraken’s performance

  • Ensure that Kraken’s critical KPIs are monitored on a regular cadence and drive analytical insights to inform decisions that shape the near-term direction of Kraken’s Product and commercial teams

  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to implement transformational initiatives that radially improve existing processes or drive operating efficiencies that lead to more optimal business outcomes

  • Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship to take our stellar Business Operations team to even greater heights 

  • Build and maintain close relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, including all product and corporate functions critical to business performance

Skills you should HODL 

  • 12+ years of experience of business operations leadership experience at high-growth technology companies, ideally in the fintech or crypto space

  • Experience with a top-tier management consulting firm highly preferred

  • Analytical powerhouse, with ninja-like ability to pick apart a business and drive critical insights that lead to operational improvement

  • Experience leading successful annual planning exercises for hyper-growth companies, leading to strong business outcomes in subsequent cycles

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (i.e., ability to distill complex ideas into tight frameworks and storytelling)

  • Experience leading and implementing large, complex cross-functional initiatives from inception to completion in a remote working environment

  • Strong executive presence and a track record of driving effective decisions and progress on challenging initiatives

  • Awesome leadership ability with an impressive track record of building and developing world-class Business Operations teams

  • Strong crypto conviction and alignment with Kraken’s mission, with demonstrable independent interest in the space; industry experience not required, though preferred
